SIBLEYSPARLING is driven by a passion for contemporary design and strives to create modern pieces that consist of clean lines, quality materials and a splash of colour. Material and process drive the design process, combining materials to see how they interact with each other and the contrasts that can be formed in colour and texture. We believe that the items we surround ourselves with affect both our environment and mood and therefore hopes that SIBLEYSPARLING pieces are able to enhance both.
Materials:
Materials are a vital inspiration. We just love them!! Walnut, brass and pop of colourful plastic are the favourite go to but we also enjoy playing with other metals and casting materials such as Jesmonite and resin.
Scale:
We love playing with scale - from the very small such as earrings to the very large in exterior sculpture. If design works then it can be rescaled to create something new.
Colour:
We love a pop of colour and believe that a highlight of colour in your home or outfit can brighten your day.
Composition:
Placing items together is our favourite thing to do as it brings together our love of materials, shape, colour and scale!
Shape:
Shape are so fun! Extracting shapes and playing with putting them together is a prime part of the process. Much like building with children’s building blocks.
Process:
We use a wide selection of processes including both analogue and digital. They are all just tools for us to be able to create the pieces we want to make.
